Teachings

Our Vision is to see each and every man equipped with a foundation according to God’s Word. One that can be built upon, one that withstands the storms and one that is rooted and founded in the word of God.
2 Tim 3:16-17 says, “All scripture is God breathed useful for teaching rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God will be thoroughly equipped unto all good works.” God has a plan and a purpose for every mans life and He has commissioned us to help lead the men here in to His perfect will for their lives.
Keep checking back as we plan to make our teachings available through our website. If you would like more information about getting Cd’s of our teachings, please email us at worship@wagnerhills.com

The following is a summary of the current class curriculum for core program residents at Wagner Hills Farm.
.
God, His Word and His Integrity
This class examines the infallibility of the word of God as found in the Bible. For those who have lacked stability and discipline in their past, we teach that the Bible contains the unchanging truth that we can guide our lives by.
.
Living a Life of Righteousness
In this class we emphasize the difference between trying to obtain righteousness through own performance, and receiving righteousness (or “right-standing with God”) as something that Jesus freely gives us.
.
Your Born Identity
Instead of “self-esteem”, we teach our residents to have “Christ-esteem” by understanding that their own value is found in the value that God has placed on them. In order for their outward lives to change, we teach our residents that their inner sense of identity as either a “sinner” or a “saint” will determine the fruit that their lives produce. Simply stated: right-standing will produce right-conduct.
.
Redeemed and Restored
After coming from a past of brokenness, future success will depend on whether or not an individual believes that what was broken has actually become fixed. We teach that redemption means we have literally been “bought back” by the sacrifice of Jesus from any former enslavement we sold ourselves into, and that building our faith in the complete work of the cross will release healing in our lives.
.
Jesus: Believing, Receiving and Acting in the Name
The name of Jesus is the “name above every name” according to the Bible. We teach that the name of Jesus is above every form of addiction, sickness, bondage, or brokenness that can come against us. We instruct residents on how to align their thoughts and actions with the victorious life that God says we have in the name of Jesus.
.
Man’s Best Friend
Jesus declared that he calls his followers friends instead of servants. In this class we encourage residents to grow in their friendship with God, relying on him every minute of the day for everything.
.
Being a Man, a Husband and Father
This is a class about the difference between simply being an immature “male”, and walking into true manhood. We teach that although men are born leaders, they have to be complete, mature, and continuing to grow for themselves before they can be leaders in their marriages, their families, and in the community in a positive way.
.
Free To Be Me
We believe that guilt, shame, and rejection are destructive forces that keep people in bondage. As we look through the eyes of God’s love for us we see a victory over these obstacles that can never be taken away from us.
.
Anger Resolution
Although “anger management” is commonly taught in our culture, the Bible teaches us about the freedom that is found in resolving anger through forgiveness. We teach that feeling anger is not a sin, but that we must resolve it and continue to walk in love so that it does not rule our hearts.
.
Faith Factor
Perfect love casts out all fear. Students learn how to put an end to coping with fear by simply overcoming it. The emphasis of this course is on faith being the polar opposite spiritual force of fear, and that through faith in God’s love we see fear cast out completely.
.
Love Walk
Many people believe in God’s love, but not as many people put faith in God’s love. This course showcases the awesome promises of God’s love in the scriptures, and instruction is given on how the Bible tells us to access the benefits of his love by faith. Students are challenged to obey Jesus’ command to love no matter what, knowing that they have the unfailing love of God to draw on as their source of strength.
.
Living a Life of Authority
This course teaches students on God’s universal design of authority that pervades every area of life. Students are challenged to recognize how they have operated in rebellious attitudes in the past, thereby placing themselves outside of God’s will and protection. Biblical instruction is given on living with submissive, servant-hearted, Christ-like attitudes that will allow God to prosper us and to help others.
.
Good Conscience
Through taking personal inventory of their pasts, students recognize areas in which their conscience are burdened and they learn how to take responsibility for their actions, receive God’s forgiveness, and to walk out godly repentance.
.
Moral Purity
Using the Bible as the first and final authority for moral standards, students are shown how our minds can either be trained according to the world’s standards, or God’s pure standards. Students discover areas in which their thinking is challenged by God’s higher standards and key Bible passages are focused on as the tools that will renew the mind and bring forth moral freedom.
