Program Basics
We desire that when a man comes into residency he quickly adapts to a life of discipline to counteract the lifestyle that he has come from. Therefore, we ask him to work certain disciplines and changes into his life when he is received into residency.
These involve attitudes toward authority, relationship with Jesus, relating to other residents, personal care and manners, honesty and openness to change, work ethics, and commitment. All this takes place during the day to day events that have been put into place as part of our program. The daily routine involves prayer, bible study, worship, teachings, journaling, sharing, fellowship and a work component.
Moving to the next level happens on an individual basis when consistent seriousness and growth is seen by counselors, staff and servant-leaders.
.
There is an intake procedure and orientation time for a few or more days. “Intake House” – to “taste” Wagner Hills and see who we are and what we teach and do.
- Decide to stay or go.
- To stay will mean to embrace the process of change as prescribed by Wagner Hills. A personal commitment to engage fully, as well as a time commitment, realizing that real change might involve more time than we think.
.
Please note: “Change” as Wagner Hills defines it:
- Begins with attitude
- Displays behavioral change to comply with our structure
- Involves changing on the inside:
Heart desire: motivation
Actions: toward God, yourself & others
Belief systems: how and what you think
Speech: about God, yourself & others
