Our History + Facility

Campbell Valley House of Hope

For many years Wagner Hills staff had recognized the need for a women’s facility. In January 2008 our prayer became reality as B.C. Housing blessed us with a 20 year lease on 45 acres of property in South Langley. The buildings were in much need of repair, but we were able welcome our first resident in April that same year.

Since then we have had many residents enter the program. We encourage a commitment for 1 year. For those completing the program, there is opportunity to continue on at House of Hope as a servant leader, taking more responsibility and overseeing different aspects of the program.

2010 began with plans for building a New Life center ( similar to the NLC at the Wagner Hills campus).  A new kitchen, dining room, offices and meeting rooms along with increased living area would allow us to increase our resident base. This would be our first step in expanding beyond the 14 person facility.

Residences

House of Hope is presently a licensed 14 bed facility.

.

Greenhouse
We are constructing 3 greenhouses which will provide work and income for the Valley.  Part of our work program is involvement in potting and other greenhouse activities.

.

Barns
Our livestock operation is worked by the residents under the guidance of the Farm Manager, as is every aspect of the work program. We have laying hens providing an abundance of eggs, rabbits, goats, a variety of special breeds of birds which are sold to provide income for the Valley.

.

Workshop
We have a fully equipped wood working shop with experienced instructors in training the women in safety procedures and wood working skills.  Some of the projects would be book shelves, bird houses, and we recently built rabbit hutches.

Charity Chicks Farm Hatchery

Campbell Valley House of Hope Women’s Recovery Home has begun raising livestock on a scenic 45 acre farm in Langley, BC. Working with the animals and poultry is therapeutic for both the body and soul, putting farm residents in touch with the reality and basics of life. With hands on experience, many are developing healthy work, life and social skills.

Campbell Valley House of Hope looks forward to becoming financially self-supporting in part through the farm program’s sales. Please visit House of Hope’s Charity Chicks Farm Hatchery website and see all that is offered and how you may partner with the ministry.
